Hot Dog
The BFF and I were gchatting today, you know a normal everyday action and to express her excitement about something she used the phrase "hot dog". At that moment I felt like maybe we were getting old.
Something I don't understand
I was looking through the latest Pottery Barn catalogue today planning designing dreams for my little abode with the money I don't have and I came across a picture of a quilt hanging on the wall which lead me to think about something I have always wondered, who considers this an acceptable piece of art? Or who thought this was a good idea and did it at their own home. If years in the future any of you see me doing this in my own house please make me refer back to this blog entry. That and kick. If any of my readers have this look currently going in their house I apologize if I have offended you and please let me know the reason behind this madness.

Justification
When I saw that Jennifer Aniston's latest movie was a flop, it made me wonder what was her last movie that wasn't a flop? People keep hiring her but I don't feel like she is really justifying her paycheck. Let me say, I did not care enough about this actual topic to do some research and figure out exactly how much she is making per movie but at what point do the director realize she is not worth the 3-4 million she is probably getting paid per movie. I'm just saying, we loved you on Friends but since then what have you done other than ended up on the cover of tabloids for always getting your heart broken and being single. That or your killer body. Kudos my friend!
Someone else not justifying their paycheck, The Situation. He is set to make 5 million this year. I mean really?!?!? I guess I have to give his people credit for striking while the iron is hot because we know in about 2 years he is going be doing nothing. Sounds like he is getting endorsements while also getting $60,000 an episode for Jersey Shore. That is a crazy amount money. I am pretty sure my shooting stars on One Tree Hill are not making that per episode and we know that show has been on forever. I also hope he has a financial advisor so he invests this money properly and doesn't spend all of it GTLing.
Kate Spade
Dear Kate Spade-
I had love for you in middle school, or was it high school. I remember asking for one of your purses in red and it was classic and perfect. I also had a wallet by you that I loved until I spilled a drink in my purse and it was ruined as well as my cell phone and camera. We broke up during college and a bit post college but I find myself coming back to you now. Now it is not so much the purses as your amazing shoes and clothing. I waited months and months for these purples heels to go on sale before I bought them because they might be some of the most fab. shoes I have ever seen. I mean look at them. Now I have come across this particular dress as well and feel like I must add it to my wardrobe. At the price tag of $355 it won't be getting added anytime soon since I am working on my debt but I will continue to check the website every week to see if and when it goes on sale. I emailed items that I loved by you to my BFF CP one day and I think she asked why I didn't just link her to the whole site because that is how many items I included. Your design as well as your color choices are impeccable. Please keep up the good work. Oh and yes, I do love the color purple
XOXO,
Taylor

The Olsen Twins
Tonight while shutting down the Crew a co-worker and I were talking about the musical Annie. I sang some songs and he told me I needed a record deal. But in the real world he asked me if I remembered back when the Olsen Twins were young and had an album, Brother for Sale. Boy did I ever. I think broke into song for Brother for Sale and their other smash hit Desperate for a Dog. If you are not familiar with these classics I suggest getting on youtube and listening to them ASAP. With lines like " We've asked you politely for a year or so. You always say you'll see about it then you never do. Are friends all have got dogs how does that make you feel.." I could go on but you get how good it is. Even more shocking is how now, about 17 years later I know these words and it is like they never left my head. No wonder I was never able to memorize where all the countries were. My head was filled with crappy Mary Kate and Ashley lyrics. I hope my number one blog commenter Jay knows what songs I am talking about otherwise this posting might not be up to par. This is my shout out to you Jay, thanks for reading!

The Lights of Broadway
Sunday me and 3 of my super awesome lady friends are heading to Broadway, well Broadway across America here in Austin. We are going to see Jersey Boys. I need to calm myself down over this one because I have been wanting to see it for years and keep hearing how great it is so I need to get my expectations in check so I don't end up disappointed. I love me a musical and even better if I know some of the words and can sing along with my voice of an angel. If any of my readers have heard me sing they know what I am talking about. While I am excited about Jersey Boys, I feel like now is the time for me to let it be known that my favorite musical EVER is Annie. I have loved it always and will love it forever. The songs make sense and seem natural. Scrubbing the floors of the orphanage? Breaking into It's a Hard Knock Life seems reasonable to me. Annie is a classic and without fail will put a smile on my face. I see some Annie watching in my future.

Mariah is so preggers
Like I told AS on Friday, it appears Mariah is in the family way.
Looks like a baby bump to me! Not sure why this is worth noting since this doesn't really affect my life in any way shape or form.

Pine Cones
Today I was tooling around on the internet like I normally do and came across a stamp of a pine cone. Then it got me thinking about pine cones more. I think when the heat is gone here in Austin and it is fall, or maybe just when it is fall since the heat will be around until November. That is neither here nor there, so when it is fall I want to decorate my apt. with some pine cones but I want to spray paint them silver and gold. Wouldn't that look super cute? Just kind of scattered about? When I went to San Antonio a month or so ago my friend SB was talking about all the spray painting they were doing of stuff and it got me thinking about what I would want to spray paint. I have 2 new pieces of art that came in not very stellar frames that would be fun to spray paint a color. There might be some arts and craftings going on in my apt. in the near future. I suggested my friend AH spray paint a chandelier for her baby's room yesterday. I am going to be a spray painting fool soon.

Lebron James
Have I mentioned my crush/wanting to be best friends with Lebron James? No I haven't, well it is just that. I kind of want to be best friends with him. I want to see him dance and tell some funny stories. I have seen youtubes of his dance moves and they look fantastic and he seems pretty normal and down to earth and I am sure if we met we would be friends. Well until that happens, I will settle for seeing him play basketball. My friend HB lives in Miami and with his move to the Heat I have tasked her with becoming friends with him and getting us in good. I think this is a solid plan because like other cities everyone knows everyone, right? Sure he kind of screwed the Cavaliers over in his move and his whole hour long special to announce what people already knew was going to happen, but he just wants to win a championship. I do hope he brings the chalk to Miami.

To text or not to text, that is the question
Today I provide you with this very important topic/public service announcement. Gents, which I think there are all of 2 of you reading and 1 is married, so pass this information along to your friends. Gents, when meeting a lady you might consider taking out, don’t text her the first time, call her. Calling means you have balls and texting, well not so much. I harp on this now as having being the recipient of this behavior recently.
I met a perfectly nice man on 4th of July. He took my number, let me clarify, memorized my number because we both didn’t have our phones on us. The effort of memorizing was impressive when I got a text the next day saying it was nice to meet me. Well that is pretty much all that happened. He would text me about once a week and say how he hoped my week went well and that we should do something soon. I kept saying week was good, yes we should get together just let me know when. Long story short, it is over a month and a half later and we never went out. Why text me once a week to just check in and never ask to do anything? We are not friends therefore why do you want to check in. Not to mention they were never texts of substance. I made it more than clear that I was willing to see him again but he never asked me.
I think I realized why he was 12 yrs older than me and still single. Yes that is mean and so is this next thing I will say. Shouldn’t a man of his generation be more inclined to call someone then text someone since a larger portion of their life that form of communication was the one available. I know that was mean but I was just making my point. I am over the whole situation and if given the option to go out now, I would politely decline. The ship has sailed my friend and I am not on your boat, no matter how much I love the nautical life!

Easily Annoyed
I am beginning to think I am easily annoyed and perhaps I need to work on remedying this. I was talking to someone yesterday about my unlove of having to work in a cube. I hate hearing everyone else’s business. Not so much their business as the noises they make. There are the 2 woman who are constantly clearing their throats. Not like 2 or 3 times a day, more like 2 or 3 times in a 15 minute time frame. As I typed that sentence it just happened twice. Day after day this sound begins to weigh on me and now it is slowly starting to drive me crazy. Then one of these same throat clearers also cackles very loudly on the phone. I don’t know how the person on the other end doesn’t go deaf but it is beyond loud. She seems to have zero concept of an inside voice or laugh. I mean is it just me or do these things drive other nuts too?? I am thinking about bringing headphones in and listening to a book on cd during the day. It would certainly be a nice change of pace and at least drown out the throat clearing. There is no hope for drowning out the cackle.
Bravo
Sometimes I feel like I should just name my blog "For the love of Bravo" because I seem to have a lot to say about the various shows I see on this fine network. This morning I have been catching up on the past 2 episodes of Bethenny Getting Married and have decided that I really love me some Bethenny Frankel. If I lived in NYC I would have been trying to become her assistant and would have been a far better choice than Max. She has such great one liners and always puts a smile on my face.
Also on the Bravo note, I find myself not that interested in watching the Housewives of DC. I have 2 episodes on the DVR but am not sure how long it will stay around on my series record. The first episode is going to have to grab me from the get go otherwise it will be a no go for me!

Hammer Time
A few weeks ago MG, LE’s fiancĂ© was telling me about how his parents went to a Cincinnati Reds game and were treated to a pregame and post game performance by MC Hammer. This immediately got me thinking. They must have MC Hammer play at their post wedding party. MG wanted to have a DJ he likes play but he is going to be in Europe then so no dice. That is when I realized there was room for the Hammer Man. When I asked MG how booking MC was going he told me he had his feelers out. I mean I know what that really means. I means Taylor give up on this dream. But driving to work today I kept thinking about how fun it would be to have Hammer at a post wedding party. I wonder how much he costs and if I should start saving my dollars now so I can have him at my wedding one day. I just had visions of me dancing on stage with the Hammer Man and all my friends having a blast. I mean if you could have someone play the after party or your wedding or event, who would it be?
Gchat advice
One of the big topics when gchatting my peeps always seems to be relationship advice. Today I was plotting with a friend a situation with a gentleman she is interested in. I am going to be vague so as to not give away her identity. Here were some of the gems I throw out
Friend: dinner with some friends
Me: so are you going to try for drinks before
i vote post dinner drinks so if he wants to smooch you he can
Friend: but i can't make it a late night
Me: why not?
romance doesn't have a bedtime
That is just a sampling of the lovely advice I have given out while also asking how to appropriately stalk a dude while not being creepy about it. In speaking of my stalker like abilities I described someone as “un serial killer like” Now that is love.

LiLo
I was checking my celeb gossip this morning and I kept running across this same quote from Dina Lohan aka Lilo’s mom. This beauty below is Dina. "She doesn't have cell phone privileges, that's absurd," she said. "She doesn't even have a pillow to sleep on. I talk to her through glass. There's a phone and we put her on speaker but I can't even hug my daughter ... She's treated like a common criminal."
I guess her mother missed the memo that cell phones aren’t allowed in jail and that her daughter is being treated like a common criminal because, wait she is a common criminal. This family is stupid. This weekend I watched Mean Girls and remembered Lilo as she used to be when she was a pretty up and comer with normal looking hair color. Ahhh those were the good old days. Come back to us Lilo circa 2004. Talk to Rachel McAdams your Mean Girls co-star, she has turned out normal.

Baby Present
Is this not the most precious little baby toy ever? I love a mustache and a top hat and this snuggly little man offers both of these things! And there is a butt crack. It just cracks me up! Friends with babies or who are having babies, you should probably expect one of these in your near future.
