Volunteering Follow Up

My friend KD and I chatted about her hospital volunteering. See gchat below

KD: i am really nervous
it was INTENSE in there yesterday
and i was only there for like 10 mins
it took everything to keep my mouth closed
but i have my scrubs and my pink volunteer uniform!
except my red nails are totally going to clash and i don't have time for a polish change

me: ummm, i hate to break it to you but i dont know if they will notice that

KD: not how i envisioned starting out what will quite possibly be the most important volunteering of my life

An alphabetical thought

I was catching up on my friend CC's blog, which by the way is wonderful. You really should check it. Not to mention her blog looks a million times better than mine. Anyhoo. While reading it she was showing some blog love to other blogs she liked. Anchors and Argyle wasn't mentioned but I am sure we will get at shout out next time. One blog she did link me to was Tory Burch's -- She seems to be doing some sort of favorite things list alphabetically and it got me thinking that I might want to do that do with my favorite things. I need to come up with something for every letter but consider it done!

Belts

I am sure the title of this post just grabbed your attention and made you want to read more.

Belts. I used to not be a big fan of belts. Lately, I feel like they are becoming my 2011 version

of my headband love. For those that don't know me well I had a very intense love with

headbands. It was at it's prime in 2007-2009ish. I still love a headband but they are not my

go to anymore like they used to be. I seriously used to wear a headband pretty much everyday.

I feel like as of late, the belt has been my new headband. I find myself wanting more belts in

fun patterns and colors. They bring an old outfit new life and it seems like I have been getting

lots of compliments on them as well. I wore this neon yellow

one to a dinner the other week and got tons of compliments.

I am currently on the hunt for a gold belt. Not skinny but not huge. I haven't found it yet but I am hunting away. Feel free to share any that you have found. Braided gold is a possibility as well.

I love this man and hope to meet him and become friends with him. He rocks. He is always in a suit and always looking fly. He is funny and calls it like it is. I heart you Andy!

Volunteering with a purpose?

A friend of mine picked her JL placement at a hospital on the prospect of meeting a Dr. to marry. I have told her this sounds horrible to me because I hate blood and needles but she seems pretty excited and gungho. She has also mentioned it is a county hospital and that there will probably be some gunshot wounds etc. I asked her what she would be doing at the hospital and she said assisting the Dr.'s. I told her I thought the nurses were for assisting. Folks, I just can't see a Dr. looking to my friend for his scalpel. Let's see if she survives the blood and the ER. And hey is she meets someone I will be the first to say I was wrong.
