Oh my god we're back again

Last night I rocked it at a New Kids on the Block/BackstreetBoy Concert. KNOTBSB was amazing. They were too cool for school to come to Austin so myself, KS, and LEG made the trek to the Big San Antonio.
A couple of things to note about the concert
1) It was pretty packed. I mean close to sold old. The guys clearly still have it going on
2) Donnie Wahlberg
ripped his
shirt off at one point and went shirtless. The crowd went wild. He is 41 and will be 42 in August. I wikipediaed him
today. His body was still pretty great considering his age. I will say I wonder how he feels
being almost 42 ripping his shirt off on stage and dancing.
3) I miss you Kevin Richardson.
He is the only member of the groups, him being from BSB, who was not on the tour. Kevin was almost my favorite but it
was based purely on looks. He looked like a model not like a boy bander.
4) Jonathon Knight and Danny
Wood are clearly in it for the money. I mean they all are but them the most. They didn't get a lot of face time and I am sure
that is how they wanted it. Jonathon just wants to back north to his real estate life.
5) Nick Carter might have been
on something. That or he just really really wanted to dance. During the ballads he was
clearly have a hard time staying still and wanted to just break it down.
6) AJ might be back on the
booze. He had a bit of the booze looking swelling going on. I am not an expert on these
things but that is what me eyes saw
7) They really liked saying they were in San Antonio. Maybe so
we knew they were singing live. Who know but they said San Antonio no less than 30 times. That's not even an
exaggeration
8) The pulled some of their dance moves from a Step arobics or zumba class.
9) It was awesome. But getting home after 1 am on a school night wasn't.
I think everyone had a blast
and if they toured again I would totes go see them. Now I just need to get NSYNC back together or at least get Justin
Timberlake
to put out another album. Yes I tried to find the best picture of JT.

Sock Hop part 2

A member of the sock hop group I have spoken of before is also rocking one of these today.

She also seemed to have missed the memo on not brushing curly hair after it dries because it is all kinds of frizzy.

love was in the air, literally

A few Thursday's ago LEG and I flew to Chicago to see VT. More on that trip later but first the travel there. AH and I had been emailing and she mentioned she had some free Southwest drink tickets. I drove to her office and picked them up and presented this awesome surprise to LEG.

Fast forward 2ish hrs. We are flying the friendly skies. Ricardo, our steward, was very friendly. We both got excited when they gave us pita chips, a mutual love. LEG asked when they were going to bring honey roasted peanuts back and to our surprise, they had, a few months ago. It might as well have been Christmas on the airplane for the amount of excitement we felt. It grew even more when Ricardo came by and gave LEG about 12 more bags. I suspect they are at her desk at work now for when she needs an afternoon pick me up. We ordered our drinks with the free drink tickets and then the romance began.

Folks, I think Ricardo was in love. In love with me no less. He wanted nothing more than to stand by and chat us up and tell us about the pub crawls he had been on and there were many. The aisle of a plane are small and when others would pass he would push up against my aisle seat. I was one lucky lady. He was called back to work and sadly our love was never fully realized. I feel confident that had he stuck around longer numbers would have been exchanged and he would have been calling me on his next layover in Austin.

A story of missed love. Heartbreaking right? Did I mention his quasi perm he was rocking. Back off ladies he is mine. But missed love it was. You bet I will be checking every Southwest flight from here out for Ricardo. Besos Ricardo, besos.

Monday was a horrible day but Tuesday was much better

Monday was pretty much a terrible day. I found out I didn't get the job that I really wanted. I have been applying for jobs and working really hard on finding something new and I really thought this was the perfect job, opportunity, next step etc. but it turns out it wasn't. I acted like a very mature adult and cried at my desk, in my car, at my apartment, and at J crew ( that being the real low point). I woke up today feeling better but still wondering when the world was going to throw me a bone.

The bone was thrown Tuesday. Last Friday I was told I was not longer going to be working in HR. They didn't know where I was going to be going but they would find a place for me. I wasn't happy but I had that potential job I was still waiting to hear from. Job doesn't work out and I am moving out of HR. Life is not bueno.

Tuesday morning I got called into the boss boss's office. Great news, I get to stay in HR, even better news, my crappy co-worker who does nothing will be moving out of our area July 1st. This was the bone I was waiting for. Finally, something was going my way. The additionally good part was that I got the schedule change I wanted too. I asked to work 7:45-5:15 Monday-Thursday and until 12 on Friday aka a half day. It was approved. I know I won't be doing this forever but this sure will make it better for now. This news seriously couldn't have come at a better time because Monday was not a good day in the world of Taylor. Tuesday, much better.

Hilar

My friend, JA, sent me this article today and it was too funny to not share

HOQUIAM, Wash. – Police say a man was carrying a dead weasel when he burst into an apartment and assaulted a man in Washington state.

The victim asked, "Why are you carrying a weasel?" Police said the attacker answered, "It's not a weasel, it's a marten," then punched him in the nose and fled.

The attacker was apparently looking for his girlfriend and had gone to her former boyfriend's apartment Monday where the victim was a guest.

KXRO reports he left the carcass behind.

Police later found the 33-year-old Hoquiam man arguing with his girlfriend at another location and arrested him after a fight.

He said he had found the marten dead near Hoquiam, but police don't know why he carried it with him.

A marten is a member of the weasel family.

Sock Hop

Folks it appears I have gone back in time at work. I have seen people wearing scarves tied around their pony tails like it the 1950's. This is a great look for a theme party, but not so much for normal work attire.

Online dating

I think I have mentioned that I joined the online dating world. What was I hoping to gain from it? A date or two, who knows. We are now going on week 3 of being on it and week 3 of emailing with a guy. Long emails too. Like multiple paragraph ones, like 9 paragraph ones. Have I met him? Nope. Have we gone on a date? Nope. Am I losing my patience? Yep. I have spoken about this dilemma to a few people. The overwhelming response was that I needed to ask him out. But I am an old fashioned kind of girl I protested. Well let's be honest, being old fashioned isn't going to get me a date. EF reminded me that she asked her now husband out first.

After some careful consideration and debating, I have come up with what I deem to be a good middle group. Upon his response to my last email I am going to say something along the lines of "Let me know if you ever want to meet up". That way I don't have to do the planning or direct asking but have given him the loud and clear message that I would like to meet him and not continue to have just an email pen pal relationship. If he can't pick up on that message and ask me to do something I am not sure he will be the kind of man for me.

I guess my mentioning free time I had on my schedule was not obvious enough that I wanted to meet him out in the real world. Let's see how this one goes.
